Now for something a little different . . . a commercial furniture shoot.  I photographed a number of room set ups of Rossmore‘s new solid oak dining & living ranges.  I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Dressing the set was such a novelty, and I could have spent hours on end (and did – much to the amusement of Mr Gilsenan) swapping plates from the second shelf to the first and changing the angle of the photo frames.  I enlisted the helping hand of my friend Grainne to help with the room set ups on the shooting day.  It was great to have another opinion on; “The green apples or the red apples?”

Rossmore is one of Ireland’s leading furniture retailers of quality dining, bedroom, mattresses, bespoke sliding wardrobes, fabric and custom made sofas.  Click here to see more of the stylish new range of furniture or you can see the full range of furniture at the Rossmore Factory Outlet on the Dublin Rd, Monaghan Town.

We managed to complete the shoot, after a lot of; glass shinning, altering the angles of furniture and fluffing of cushions.  These images are a sample of the end result.

Drumbriston Furniture

Drumbriston Furniture’s suites can also be viewed at Rossmore’s showroom.  They make a complete range of Sofas, chairs, recliners, bedsettees and corner units. All off which can be made to measure!  They are a family run business manufacturing furniture in Monaghan since 1980.  Below, I have included a small sample of their suites on offer.

In the interest of declaration of all relevant connections . . . I happened to marry a Drumbriston Furniture gentleman (do you like the way I am buttering him up??)  Despite being married to somebody who works within the world of furniture, I am still clueless to the finer details of furniture manufacturing.  I listen to many stories about; “recliner mechanisms”, “pillow backs”, “reflex foam”  etc.etc. . . . I presume it’s like when I am talking to Paul about; “the importance of a platform in a shoe for a night out” or “the miracle of Laura Mercier primer”.  Still not much the wiser, but nodding at all the right times 🙂

Something a little different from me.  No detailed close ups (well I managed to sneak a few close ups in there), smiley children, fancy white dresses or weddings cakes . . . but I’m very excited about these images.  Don’t they say; “Variety is the spice of life!”  🙂
