You know those crazy busy days in the week before Christmas when you are running around with endless to-do-lists and wrapping presents? Well, Rachel & Luke did something a bit more exciting than buying that 10th box of “just in case” celebrations . . . They got married!! This couple wed on a cold and crisp December day in front of their closet family members. I’ve said it before but there is something very special about photographing intimate weddings where the closest family members are present. I feel like part of the family who is quietly tagging along to a very important family event. Luckily I take my camera along, so I don’t coma across as “totally” strange! 😉
Luke got ready on the morning of his wedding in the quiet and calm surrounding of the Westenra arms hotel and Rachel got ready in the busy Donnelly homestead outside Monaghan. Luke had a very on-trend (and very cool) navy suit with some velvet detailing and Rachel had the dress that most girls could only dream of fitting into. I’m a sucker for lace detailing on a dress and Rachel’s dress was absolutely gorgeous. Rachel & Luke were a dream to photograph as they clearly think the world of each other and couldn’t stop smiling for the entirety of the day. Smily happy faces all round at this wedding 🙂
This wedding day had so many highlights, too many to mention them all, but here are some of the memorable photo moments;
– Rachel’s dad seeing her for the first time (cue sobbing from all corners of the house)
– Sean-og dressed up in his black tie onesie (the cutest of the cute!!)
– Luke’s face when he seen Rachel for the first time at the top of the alter (you’ll not see a bigger smile!)
– The wedding party braving the coldest gale to ever blow over the Monaghan drumlins for some photos outside (It was co o o o o ld out there!)
Luckily I have photos to prove all of the above moments . . . . and lots more besides.
Have a peep x
